Ph.D. Program The program of studies leading to the doctorate in philosophy provides subjects and seminars in such traditional areas as logic, ethics, metaphysics, epistemology, philosophy of science, philosophy of language, philosophy of mind, aesthetics, social and political philosophy, and history of philosophy. Interest in philosophical problems arising from other disciplines, such as A PhD from MIT means that I have been surrounded by the most influential people during my most formative years in training. There is never a shortage of creativity or motivation to do my best. – Kenny Chen, Graduate Student in the Shoulders Lab The MIT Department of Physics has a graduate population of between and students, with approximately 45 students starting and graduating each year. Almost all students are pursuing a PhD degree in Physics, typically studying for 5 to 7 years and with the following degree structure

The Johnson Research Group

Here, mit phd thesis, Manu and Yivan used iterative exponential growth IEG to prepare mannosylated oligotriazoles of varying lengths, absolute configurations, mit phd thesis topologies. Working in collaboration with Prof. Remzi Becerwe studied the binding of these molecules toward 8 different human lectins, showing that their molecular features mit phd thesis give rise to mit phd thesis orders-of-magnitude variations in binding affinity and selectivity.

Then, with Prof. Laura Kiesslingwe showed that their cellular trafficking can be tuned by altering their sidechain composition. All of these results were supported by molecular dynamics simulations from Prof.

Rafael Gómez-Bombarelliwhich revealed that the stereochemistry of the glyco-IEGmer backbone impacts its conformational diversity, which in term affects lectin binding. Congrats to everyone involved in this great work! Thanks to all of our outstanding group members and collaborators who have made so many outstanding contributions over the years. Here's to the next 10! Thanks Yang and Nicolò for including us in this fun project!
